I walked out of the apartment door to hear the song, "Eye of the Tiger" blaring outside. Usually this would be an awesome way to start a Sunday run. I turned the corner only to see the the starting line of a 5k race right in the middle of my planned route. Not knowing the proper etiquette, I decided to steer clear of that area all together. I also resisted the temptation to register for the race :-D

In the end, I made up a route. My original route was 7.5 miles and I ended up running 8.5 miles at 9.02 mile pace.

I also do not know what the proper etiquette is for that situation, but it drives me crazy when people get in the way of racers! I would assume it would be fine as long as you did not partake of the treats and water and get in people way, right???

Anyway, you got in some extra mileage, so that is always a nice treat!
